A consultation is used to get the “big picture” of a child’s primary needs and to determine the best course of action to help you and your family. This is a 20 minute phone conversation to better understand your child, determine therapeutic fit, and decide if and how I can best support you!
An evaluation is performed following a consultation if in fact parent coaching is considered the right fit. Based on the information gathered from the consultation, an evaluation will be completed to gather a much deeper and broader understanding of your family dynamics, child’s needs and temperament, and other contributing factors. Evaluations last on average 60 minutes.

Each person is unique and their parent coaching journey will be unique. Factors determining the number of sessions can vary, but may include the number and significance of challenges that your child or family is experiencing, how quickly you are progressing, and the frequency of sessions scheduled (higher frequency typically yields faster progress). Although this question is difficult to answer before getting to know each family, I will have a better gauge and can give my professional opinions once our initial sessions have begun. Open communication throughout the coaching process is encouraged and welcome.

Unfortunately, health insurance plans do not cover parent coaching services. Methods of payment may include cash/check, credit card, or grants or waivers. Check with your individual provider to determine HSA and FSA coverage.
